Authorial Intent Doesn't Matter

daily_015; Lowe’s sucks

Hear me out.

I put in an order a week ago for same-day delivery at work. I paid extra for this service.

None of the items showed up on time (and STILL haven’t arrived), so I got on to tech support to ask for the fee back for same-day delivery; seems pointless since the free delivery option would have the same delivery date.

The rep told me that I must be mistaken, none of my items were available for free delivery. He also condescended to tell me that “shipping” and “delivery” were two different items, and I couldn’t have had free delivery on those. Multiple times. I asked him to explain the difference, and of course he couldn’t, because those two words mean the same thing when they are listed together on the receipt.

I sent him screenshots of the receipts of the shipping/delivery charge being listed as FREE.

He ended the chat pretty quickly after I did that.

Lowe’s is worse than Home Depot. If they didn’t have as good of a credit account as they do, I would have hard switched to Home Depot for life. I don’t know why I have to have singular brand loyalty, but I do. Something about the parity and the lack of a decision to be made makes me really happy (hence why I am fully in the Apple ecosystem after I received the laptop I am typing this on as a gift).

Anyways, save yourself some headache. I paid extra for same day delivery on three items that haven’t showed up yet. I will have spent more time calling about the delivery than their employees would if they had done their job correctly.

Don’t be a Lowe’s. Be better than Lowe’s.

Sorry. I know this one seems pretty lame, but I CAN’T STOP THINKING ABOUT THAT REP TELLING ME I MUST HAVE BEEN MISTAKEN OR LYING FOR SAYING THAT THE RECEIPT SAID FREE, AND THAT SHIPPING AND DELIVERY ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS.

Thanks for reading.
