Expectations are dangerous. I’m disappointed by them every time, unless they’ve been communicated, agreed upon, and are realistic/reasonable.
I can’t expect the worst, nor the best.
I can’t expect people to behave differently than they’ve shown themselves to be, especially not as if by magic.
I can’t expect myself to do what someone else expects of me if they haven’t communicated what they need.
It cuts both ways.
Communicate.
Agree.
Be realistic.
Expect nothing less once you have.
