Authorial Intent Doesn't Matter

daily_063; patterns

I don’t know what my batting average is right now, but it feels like I’m holding the wrong weighted bat, or the umpire’s jeering at me from behind home plate.

We slip really easily into patterns. It’s why we chalk things up so easily to personality- oh, I’m just unorganized, he’s just a happy guy, that place isn’t clean.

Maybe that third one isn’t a pattern so much as the others. But you get the picture.

It’s hard to change. To push yourself into a new direction, to dig new trenches in our grey matter.

But it’s so worth it.

This whole “daily” thing is starting to lose some of its meaning, but it’s so worth it to stick by this. Stay with the new rotation.

I’ll get the percentage back up.
