Authorial Intent Doesn't Matter

daily_068; water

I got lost on Blodgett Loop today. I didn’t bring enough water for me and my wife and my dog all to have.

I ended up rucking my dog for about 3 of every ten minutes on the back half of the trail. We were a little worried about him in the sun.

I need to get a water bottle for him. And a daypack for me. And maybe a harness for my chest in case I have to carry the dog again.

All in all a good hike, and the least of what I gained was an interesting story to tell. The most was a beautiful view and time away from car sounds and screens.

I’m trying not to be preachy, but I can’t resist with this one; everyone should go hiking, as often as possible. The least you get is stories (please don’t be the edgecase that hikes dangerously just to prove me wrong that you can get worse than stories) and the rest is so worth going for.
